Co-Resist Design

Inspired by my professor Najeeba Syeed saying, “We need interreligious scholarship that is beyond coexistence and dialogue. That gets to our need for co-resistance,” I took a spin on the infamous interreligious “CoExist” sticker to create a “CoResist” one.

I’ve opened it up to the public domain, so feel free to use, share, print, make bumper stickers, t-shirts, etc.! Here are a few different file options below.

For those who have asked, here are the meanings of the symbols (I was not able to include all religious symbols, and this was based off the ones included in the “Coexist” sticker, but it’s public domain and the vector file is below, so people can feel free to edit as they like!):

  • C: Islam (star and crescent)
  • O: Buddhism (dharma wheel)
  • R: Unitarian Universalism (flaming chalice)
  • E: inclusive gender symbols
  • S: Judaism (Star of David and menorah)
  • I: Humanism
  • S: Taoism/Confucianism (yin and yang symbol)
  • T: Christianity (cross)

A friend who owns a small screenprinting business has offered to print t-shirts, stickers, totes, and more and donate 100% of the proceeds (after cost of materials and production) to the ACLU! Here’s the link! We’ve raised over $1,200 so far!
